Win rate

Definition

The share of your trades that close in profit.

Why it matters

Win rate says nothing on its own. A 35% win rate with 3R winners beats a 70% win rate with 0.3R winners, so always read it next to average win and average loss.

Formula

Win rate = Winning trades / Total trades

Example

38 winners out of 100 trades is a 38% win rate; paired with 2.5R winners that is still a strongly profitable system.

How to track it in a journal

TradeStack calculates the core performance numbers — win rate, average win and loss, profit factor, expectancy, drawdown and consistency — automatically from imported trades, so win rate stops being something you estimate and becomes something you read.
