Frequently asked
How is options profit calculated?
For a long call: (underlying price at expiry - strike - premium) x 100 x contracts, floored at minus the premium paid. For a long put the intrinsic value is strike minus underlying price instead. Short positions are the mirror image.
What is the break-even price of an option?
For a long call it is strike plus premium. For a long put it is strike minus premium. The calculator prints it for you.
Does this include commissions?
No. Add your broker's per-contract fee to the premium if you want a fee-inclusive number, or log the real fill in your trading journal afterwards.
